Illinois-based Fellowes Brands, a producer of workplace furnishings, will shut down its contract furniture division, formerly known as Trendway, this year. The company will close its Michigan production facility and discontinue a portion of its furniture product offering, including systems, case goods, filing, storage, and tables.

The company will continue to accept orders of discontinued products until June and ship orders through July 2024. In 2019, Fellowes invested significant in upgrading systems, equipment, and processes. However, due to disproportional investments and an ineffective ERP and WMS implementation in 2023, the company decided the business was in an unrecoverable condition. CEO John Fellowes expressed sadness over the decision and expressed the need to face the reality and plan a future that resolves these challenges.

Fellowes will continue to serve the contract furniture industry with its line of monitor arms, power solutions, height adjustable tables, desktop lighting, keyboard solutions, organizational products, networked air purification, air quality monitoring, and modular walls. Further communication is currently being provided to customers to support their transition.
