Presentation #1: 11:00 a.m. – 11:20 a.m. ET, SGS Canada Inc. (Dennis Lancion)
Topic: Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) General Prohibitions

Ten years ago, on June 20, 2011, the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) came into force. This legislation has helped modernize and strengthen Canadian consumer product safety laws by overhauling existing rules to further protect the health and safety of Canadians. The CCPSA has enhanced the federal government’s ability to take action when consumer products pose, or are likely to pose, a danger to human health or safety. Additionally, the CCPSA gives the Government of Canada the power to order recalls on products found to be unsafe. Health Canada is the federal government department that administers the CCPSA.

As a manufacturer, importer, advertiser and seller of consumer products, do you know your responsibilities and expectations from Health Canada? Is your company in compliance with the CCPSA? Do you know how to report health or safety incidents to Health Canada and provide the relevant information related to the hazards? Do you understand the steps involved in a product recall?

In this information session, Dennis Lancion, Connectivity & Products Technical Manager – Hardlines for SGS Canada Inc., will answer those questions and others while providing an overview on Health Canada’s approach in enforcing the general prohibitions under Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA) and what Health Canada considers when evaluating if a consumer product is a danger to human health or safety.

Presentation #2, 11:30 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. ET, Krunchbox (Doug Murless)
Topic: How to Ship your Goods to Only the Stores that Need Them the Most!

The concept of just-in-time delivery is now haunting today’s retail suppliers as it is no longer “just in time” delivery it is now “late delivery’, which is resulting in a global economic slowdown and causing many retailers’ store shelves and suppliers’ warehouses to operate at all-time lows.

Add on to this an increase in shipping and packaging costs, panic buying by your retail partners, and suddenly being a retail supplier just got a lot more complex than it ever has been.

In this information session, Doug Murless, General Manager, North America for Krunchbox, will show you how you can use the nuggets of gold that lie in your retailers’ POS and inventory data, along with the calculations needed so you can allocate your “limited” inventory to only the retailer’s stores that need them the most, while keeping all your retailer merchants happy.

Whether you are a Krunchbox customer or not there is something in this discussion for everyone.

Krunchbox, a simple to use, cloud-based business intelligence tool designed to help vendors and their retailers collaborate around point-of-sale (POS) data and make more effective inventory decisions. Krunchbox is excited to offer members a new 50/50-member discount program. As a member, your organization will now be eligible to receive a 50% discount off your program setup fee (a $1,250 savings) and a 50% discount off your first 3-months subscription (a $2,250-$7-500 saving) of the Krunchbox POS analytics platform.
