David Boone, CEO Staples Canada released a letter to the Staples Associates providing an update on the action Staples Canada is taking to support their customers and associates across Canada. Stores that remain open will be limiting the number of customers in stores, asking customers to adhere to social distancing guidelines, and implementing extensive cleaning and sanitizing. Staples Canada will continue to support their dedicated associates as well as Canada’s small businesses, essential services, educators, parents and our entire community as we work through this together.

To the Staples Community,
During this uncertain and challenging time, I am proud of how the Staples Canada family has come together to support each other and our communities.

At Staples, we are committed to acting with the best interest of our associates and customers in mind. We continue to take action and change the way we operate every day for the safety of our associates and customers. To read about what we’ve done so far, visit help.staples.ca.

Our exceptional group of dedicated associates are working hard at our stores, Fulfillment Centres and Printing & Technology Service Hubs. These associates are working on the frontline, making sure that Canadians continue to have access to the products and services they need during this time to keep their businesses running and children learning. To thank our associates for their hard work over the past few weeks, we will provide all frontline associates with a special Thank You Bonus.

We continue to encourage you to stay home and start shopping at Staples.ca, where we continue to offer free shipping on all orders and Contactless Curbside Store Pickup for most items. If you plan on shopping at one of our Staples locations over the next few days, my ask to you is to be mindful of the social distancing measures that we have in place. Please be sure to follow the social distancing markers and keep a 2-metre distance from other customers who are shopping. Our associates are doing their best to implement these measures in store, but they need your support and cooperation.

Protecting the health and safety of our associates and customers is paramount – we will continue looking at how we can adapt our operations.

We recognize that our customers are relying on our team to keep you safely connected. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this time.

Sincerely, David Boone CEO Staples Canada
