UPM Pulp, UPM Timber, and UPM Communication Papers are negotiating for possible temporary layoffs in Finland’s pulp mills, sawmills, and communication paper mills.
The negotiations aim to prepare for potential adjustments in production if the operating environment remains uncertain. The negotiations involve approximately 820 people in UPM Pulp Finland’s operations, 340 in UPM Timber sawmills, and 1,100 in UPM Communication Papers Finnish mills.
The layoffs could occur between July 31 and December 2024 in UPM Pulp and Timber, and September 1 and February 28 in UPM Communication Papers. Decisions will be made after the negotiations are concluded.
