MillerKnoll, a global design leader, has announced that its North American products will be free of added per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) from May 2025. PFAS, also known as ‘forever chemicals,’ are problematic for the environment and do not easily break down.
MillerKnoll, which currently has very little inventory containing added PFAS, is committed to not adding any PFAS to its products in North America and to extend this commitment globally by fiscal year 2027 ahead of future regulations.
The company aims to exceed consumer expectations and meet increasing regulatory demands for chemical transparency. This move comes after being named a Frontrunner and Disclosure Leader in the Chemical Footprint Project (CFP) Report by Clean Production Action for its work in 2023.
The CFP assesses businesses’ journeys from regulatory compliance to manufacturing, distributing, and selling safer products.
